Most business problem can be solve with a small numbers of techniques because most of them resemble each other. This doesn’t mean that similar problem have similar solutions, that’s why we have to validate our assumptions with fact base data analysis this will put us in much better position to get your solution accepted.

Here is five step method we can use when trying to solve a problem affecting a business :

1.State the Problem ; what the problem you have to solve ?

What are the symptoms ? who are the stakeholders ?

2. Structure the problem ; what are the potential problems , the underlying causes contributing to it.

3. Generate alternative solutions ; think of many possible actions to take to achieve the specific objectives, this point is more about quantity than quality without judgment, then evaluate your results.

4. Communicate Selling your solutions ; inform and get acceptance by all stakeholders affected with the solution. Tell them what are the benefits for them with this solution, and persuade management to buy into it.

5. Implement; Initiate actions to achieve the specific objectives always start implementing from Top – Down, changes in organization don’t flow up.

Provide coaching and follow consulting as necessary and be persistent.

Always involve a team of four or five individuals is an excellent vehicle for much stronger fact base solutions.

Put together enough data and facts combine with some creative thinking and you will come up with the better solution, and always trust and verify yours assumptions.
